This week, we are working with Ghost Tarot, created by Davide Corsi. The Ghost Tarot takes us to an ethereal world among the restless spirits searching for lost mortality. This is a beautiful and expressive deck, with some of the cards being simply heart wrenching.

As many of you know, I write a YA Series featuring a 16 year old psychic medium and I have to admit, that I’ve used this deck to help with the story line.

So the three cards drawn randomly from the Ghost Tarot today were: 7 of Swords, Ace of Swords, 8 of Cups

The three cards from the Ghost Tarot by Davide Corsi

So we start out our day with some swords energy, the first of these being the 7 of Swords. Here we see depicted a ghost, holding on tightly to several swords while looking over his or her shoulder as to ensure that nobody is watching. This card has many different associations to it, all depending on the particular circumstance.

Here I’m getting a sense of hoarding your ideas and not allowing them to take form. Many of us have one or many ideas rattling around in our heads but are afraid to actually do anything with them. Maybe it’s fear of failure. Maybe even fear of ridicule. I believe it was Woody Allen who said something to the effect of : If you’re not failing every now and then, then that means you not doing anything very innovative. Holding on tightly to your ideas is of no benefit to anyone so don’t be afraid to be daring. Of course, for many of us, the enemy here is procrastination – and that’s an entirely different issue some of us have to learn to deal with.

So we decide to move forward with an idea. This could be a new work or business idea, an idea on how to reinvigorate your relationship. Often, simply deciding to follow this seed of any idea to see where it leads can result in the breakthrough that we see in our second card, the Ace of Swords. The other six swords are gone and the hand now holds only one.

Now to get here from that last card require a bit of contemplation and decision-making. Maybe even the possibility of combining all those ideas together to make even something more spectacular. Ask yourself: What if? and see where it leads you. This is a card of purpose, of single-mindedness, of making a conscious decision to explore an idea. Any ideas are useless to us if they don’t move any further than our minds. The Ace of Swords here lets us know that there is potential here but also a call to action.

Now this may involved getting rid of some of your preconceived notions and beliefs, as suggested by our last card, the 8 of Cups. This is a card of moving on and leaving something behind. In order to discover who we are and what we are capable of, we have to turn away beliefs, behaviors and sometimes even people that can hinder us. The 8 of Cups is often about staring anew.

Perhaps dissatisfaction with the way things are might urge us to finally take those ideas we mentioned in the past two cards and run with them, leaving behind those old preconceived notions of what we are and aren’t capable of. And that’s the fun of any new venture. I’m seeing with these three cards a strong possibility of new self-discovery. But as usual, it’s up to you to decide if you’re up for the challenge.

Now the message for these three cards is:

“An idea that is thought-out, developed and put into action is more important than an idea that exists only as an idea. It is the ability to convert ideas into real things that is the secret of success.”

So today’s advice card comes from The Symbolon Deck and the card drawn randomly from the deck was: _Fortuna.

Fortuna card from the Symbolon Deck

What a perfectly lovely card for our advice card today. The Fortuna card is about reaching for the stars and trusting in the universe. The figure in this card is being showered with blessings from above, letting us know that in the end, our efforts will be worthwhile.

We have the possibility of taking the potential of that Ace of Swords card we saw and turning it into something concrete. This could be a successful novel or non-fiction book, a successful membership Web site, success selling your art or your craft creations – the potential is unlimited. While there may be some uncertainty involved, there is one thing that you can be certain of: you can be certain that nothing at all will happen if you don’t at least try.

That’s your Daily Tarot Map for today. Brightest Blessings!
