This week, we are working with The Green Witch Tarot, created by Ann Moura with the cards illustrated by Kiri Ostergaard Leonard and the three cards drawn randomly from the deck today were: Four of Wands, Queen of Wands, Ace of Chalices

The three cards from the Green Witch Tarot by Ann Moura and Kiri Ostergaard

The first card in our draw today is the Four of Wands, in which we see a man sharing the fruits of his harvest with a woman. Perhaps he and she are partners and they’re celebrating a successful end to the harvest season. That’s what this card is about – rejoicing in a job well done.

Maybe you’re coming to an end of an especially harrowing project or you might even have received a raise or promotion at work. The man and the woman make me think of teamwork or partnerships so you may be celebrating your efforts with others.

The way they are looking at each others – making goo-goo eyes might also point to the potential of a workplace romance. Whatever it is, I get a sense of stability here – you’re on solid ground and you deserve to celebrate the hard work you’ve done.

But just don’t celebrate too long. It’s time to get back to work on on the next project whether that be work or personal, as suggested by our next card, the Queen of Wands, who makes an appearance for the second time this week.

She’s the CEO, think Sandra Bullock in the Proposal – someone who’s in charge and this hard-working driven gal is aways ready to move on to the next thing. It is interesting to note however, that in this card, she’s not moving. She’s sitting. Perhaps trying to decide where to go next.

That would explain our last card, the Ace of Chalices, which is ill-dignified by the fire card next to it. So rather than a feeling of contentment, inspiration and joy, we may see instead dissatisfaction, lack of motivation or even doubt. Ace’s are about new beginnings and given that some of you may have just wrapped up a big project or life phase, this Ace points to moving on to the next thing.

But I think here, with this card ill-dignified, that we may need to make sure that we’re on the right track. Maybe that’d explain why our otherwise always-on-the-go Queen of Wands sits quietly. She may be trying to decide whether she wants to continue on the path she’s on or do something different.

Maybe the opportunity to take on a new project has come your way, something that you’re not all that thrilled about. Just because we’re good at something doesn’t mean we have to do it. And I think that might be the key here. If a project, job, area of study or even a partner doesn’t provide contentment then it might be time to reevaluate.

Now the message for these three cards is:

Even if you think you’re successful and have it all figured out, you may hear a little voice which nags at you and says “but wait…” Don’t dismiss it, but listen to what it has to say, for it sometimes knows what you’ve been avoiding.

So today’s advice card comes from The Symbolon Deck and the card drawn randomly from the deck was: Defiance.

Defiance card from the Symbolon Deck

Interesting card in the light of today’s reading. Defiance is about going against the norm, about even running away from obligations that you find repressive. Maybe there’s a little voice inside of you that’s saying, “Man, what you’re doing is so boring! Let’s do something fun. Let’s create something fun.” If you’re feeling that little nudging to switch gears, it might be worth it to sit down and brainstorm your options. You might come up with something really interesting – perhaps interesting enough to even calm the defiant little tyke inside of us.

That’s your Daily Tarot Map for today. Brightest Blessings!
