Daily Tarot Map for October 21, 2015

This is Your Daily Tarot Map for Wednesday, October 21, 2015 – Using Tarot to create the life you want (transcript below).

Thank you for joining me!

This week, we are working with the Ghost Tarot, created by Davide Corsi.

So the three cards drawn randomly from the Ghost Tarot today were: 7 of Wands, 9 of Cups, 3 of Wands

The three cards from the Ghost Tarot by Davide Corsi

What an interesting group of cards we have today and at first glance, it looks as though the theme of how we treat the people in our life will be an important one today.

The first card in our draw is the 7 of Wands and here we see a figure standing firm and holding back seven fiery spirits. Rather a frightening image at first glance, kind of a “me against the world” depiction here. But the point is, is that he is successful in holding them back and is standing his ground.

And this is exactly what some of you may be called to do today. You may find yourself being challenged, your ideas belittled. But you’re urged here to press on, despite the odds or difficulties. Though we may feel attacked and worn down, the 7 of Wands lets us know that we have the resolve to see though to the end whatever issue is taking first place. This might be standing up for someone close to us or defending you choices or belief systems.

Now the imagery in our second card, the 9 of Cups, is quite different than we’re used to seeing with this card. Here we see a handsome soldier, offering his hand to a timid-looking ghost. Though she’s no longer in physical form, he treats her like she is, seeming to be mindful of her feelings. Perhaps he’s asking her to dance. Or perhaps he’s simply telling her that she’s not alone.

So though we may find ourself on the defensive today, we need to be careful not to react too harshly and to be sensitive to the feelings of others. Be firm in our resolve, but gentle in its defense. Many people back down when we treat them with kindness instead of retaliating. This card also may point out that some of our choices may not be popular with others, simply perhaps because they don’t understand. Something to keep in mind.

Our last card, the 3 of Wands, also strays a bit from traditional symbolism as well, in which we see a well-dressed man holding an umbrella over a spirit. He’s protecting what is dear to him, keeping it safe or in this case, keeping her safe. Just like we need to protect our happiness and not let others destroy it by their ideas of how things should be or how we should behave. These past two cards really speak of stepping outside the box and doing the unexpected and perhaps this is where many of you find yourselves at the moment. What I’m getting here is a need to protect the dream and do what’s important to you while taking the feelings of others around you into consideration.

So the message today for these three cards is:

“To be ourself in a world that’s constantly trying to make us something else is a great accomplishment. Though we cannot control all the events that happen to us, but we can decide not to be reduced by them.”

Prevention card from the Symbolon Deck

So today’s advice card comes from The Symbolon Deck and the card drawn randomly from the deck was: Prevention.

When I see this card, it speaks to me of trying to be something we’re not. The man here appears to be desperately trying to pull out the sword, certain that he’s to be the next king. But the sword won’t budge. The same goes for us. No matter how much some of us try and struggle to fit ourselves into a mold, it won’t work – because it’s not us. If we can’t pull the sword from the rock, then it’s not our sword. If you’ve been trying to fit someone else’s idea of what you should be, maybe it’s time to instead fit what you know you should be.

That’s your Daily Tarot Map for today. Brightest Blessings!
