Deck: The Wizard’s Tarot
This post is part of my 45 Experiment: Using the daily tarot draw to bring more financial abundance into our life. I will be using the Wizard’s Tarot by Corrine Kenner and John J. Bluemen for this experiment’s deck.
Day 20: What can I do to bring more financial abundance into my life?
The Lover’s card represents the bringing together of two or more separate parts to form a whole. Many people feel incomplete until they have a romantic partner in their life or are on an eternal quest to find their soulmate. Perhaps this card may be urging us to take a close look at our business to see if there are any “missing elements.” Sometimes, we feel that something is missing or lacking in our business, an aspect that would make it feel more complete. So with this in mind, take some time, reevaluate your processes and determine what might be missing. Do you need to bring on an additional team member with more experience than you? Do you need to hire a new vendor or perhaps change your business to a partnership with someone else? Maybe hire an editor to look over your work? I personally have taken classes to develop skills that I felt were lacking in my career over the years and am in fact currently doing so right now. I feel it is important to continuously learn from others. That being said, even the teachers in your life can be considered team members as they are helping you add new skills to your professional and personal life. So today, take out a pen and paper and brainstorm a “doable” list of things that can help your business move forward.
This card can also suggest that we are at a crossroads and a major life choice needs to be made. In older versions of The Lovers card, this choice was often between the safe, comfortable and familiar surroundings of home (often represented by a mother figure) and another woman, an unknown future. If you are on the verge of such a choice, the card often advises that it’s time to leave the easy and familiar behind and instead, take the path that may prove more difficult, as this is the one that will help us grow. This new path can be starting a new business, taking on a business partner, completely revamping a current business, taking a new course of study or even a completely new apprenticeship. This seems to reinforce a theme that has appeared several times during this experiment: in order to grow and expand, we cannot do what we’ve always done – we must venture into the unknown.
I often see the Lover’s card as a union of two or more elements coming together, perhaps marking the beginning of a partnership or alliance. The Lovers can suggest that it’s time to reach out to another. Sometimes, being a sole proprietor can be stressful, especially when you find that there simply are not enough hours in a day to accomplish your daily goals. So once you get things comfortably rolling, it might be time for look for some additional help, whether it be bringing in a business partner or simply building a support team such as an accountant, Web designer, graphic designer, or an administrative assistant (virtual assistants are becoming quite popular these days).
But it’s important to be able to trust those who are part of our alliances as this card is often about trusting another. So when you get to the stage when you are ready to reach out to another, it is essential that there is a strong bond of trust and open communication between you. Otherwise, you will end up trying to micromanage everything, resulting in a more unpleasant and stressful situation than before. So perhaps there is an additional message here: Stop micromanaging and trust your support team – and allow them to do what you commissioned them to do.
As The Lovers card is a card of engagement it’s also advisable to engage others as much as possible, whether it be by adding new team members or simply by networking (social or in-person). The wider-range of people that you can bring together to help you in your goals, the richer your professional life will be – and the more likely you will be to bring forth financial success. I have heard of this card referred to as the “Team Building Card” on more than one occasion, which does make perfect sense in the context of our experiment. So today, focus on putting together your own team of “experts” (or finding a mentor) as well as look at what might perhaps be missing from your business/financial life that is causing a lack of harmony or lack of completeness – and then take positive steps to add those missing components.
