Deck: The Wizard’s Tarot
This post is part of my 45 Experiment: Using the daily tarot draw to bring more financial abundance into our life. I will be using the Wizard’s Tarot by Corrine Kenner and John J. Bluemen for this experiment’s deck.
Day 27: What can I do to bring more financial abundance into my life?
Four of Pentacles
The Four of Pentacles or Coins is about material issues – about creating and holding onto our wealth, which is the basis of this experiment. It concerns financial stability; but moreover, it’s about holding onto your money at the current moment and working on accumulating assets. It may be time to stop spending and to start building up your material holdings with the resources and knowledge that you have at your disposal.
You might want to think about increasing the amount you are putting into your current retirement fund, even if it means implementing a moratorium on unnecessary spending. This card often speaks to me of long term financial holdings and security so think about reviewing your holdings and see if there is anything you can do to build up a better portfolio, such as starting a Roth IRA.
Today however, another revelation struck me as I turned over this card – that of asking for what your are worth. Very often, people involved in spiritually oriented professions such as healers, tarot readers, psychics, and the like have a difficult time asking for money for their services. Many believe or have a difficult time accepting money for a spiritual service. This comes from the old holdover, “To serve God (or spirit), you have to be poor.” This card reminds us that we have a right to make a living and we need to charge what we are genuinely comfortable with. Money is often a measure of self-worth, so if we accept less than we feel we are worth, our self-esteem suffers in the process. Money is symbolic of our professionalism and not asking what we feel we are worth can eat away at us in the long run. The goal here, is to increase the financial abundance in our lives so it is important to set our prices at a level that will help in achieving this goal – again, we need to set our rates at a level that we are comfortable with.
So today might be a good day to review your fee structure and determine whether it is time to raise your rates, especially if you feel that your current rates/prices are set at a lower level than you would prefer.
